Application Process for the Bezalel Program

The Israel Experience Bezalel Program application process is divided into two stages:

Portfolio and Course Options

All students applying to Bezalel through the MASA Bezalel experience program will be required to submit an application form. This is not to be used in the selection process, but rather to clarify the level of the incoming students to later help place them in courses.

Those who have a background in art will be asked to choose a department to which they will belong during their time at Bezalel. We also request that these students send us a portfolio of their work to be passed on to the appropriate department, where it will be evaluated by the head of the department to determine the student's level in order to help in the advising and course selection process. The head of the department will act as the advisor for those MASA students associated with his/her department.

Students participating in the MASA Bezalel experience program who do not have a background in art will automatically be placed in the Fine Arts department where they will be advised by the head of that department. These students will not be required to send a portfolio.

When applying for this program, students must take into consideration that the possible courses for which they will be able to register may be limited due to space constraints and/or their previous art experience/education. Those students with previous experience may have the opportunity to take part in more advanced classes, which are typically easier to enter than basic first year courses.

There are two options to send the portfolio:
  1. Put your portfolio on a website utube/ myspace /flicker and send us a link
  2. On a CD via mail to the address:

Full Application and Additional Documents

Application for the academic year 2009-10 Full program should be completed by May-June 2009

Application for the academic year 2009-10 First Semester should be completed by May-June 2009

Application for the academic year 2009-10 Second Semester should be completed by September -October 2009

The first stage enables us to begin the application process but it by no means sufficient in order to complete the process.

To complete the process please download the full application form.
Make sure you fill it in fully and correctly.

The form includes:

  • Medical Examination Form
  • Signed Statement on Standards and Responsibilities
  • Declaration of health from your therapist

Please send the full application together with:

  • 500 US$ nonrefundable check / bank transfer to the order of the Israel Experience LTD.
  • 4 recent passport pictures
  • A photocopy of your passport
  • MASA grant/ scholarship application forms can be found on the Masa website.
    You can fill it in only from January 2009.
