The Extreme Israel Experience
Safety & Security

The safety, security, and well being of our participants are, and always have
been, our primary concern. All of our activities are carried out in compliance
with the strictest possible safety requirements, in accordance with the
standards set by the Ministry of Education and the Jewish Agency Security
Department. These bodies coordinate directly with the IDF, the Israeli Police
and the SPNI (Society for the Protection of Nature in Israel).
Is It Safe to Travel To Israel?

Yes! We wouldn’t bring you to Israel if we felt at any time that we couldn’t
provide a completely safe and secure environment on your trip.
How Do We Keep You Safe?

Security Briefing
All participants receive a security orientation session upon arrival in Israel.
Routes & Itineraries
All itineraries and routes are approved by the SPNI in conjunction with the IDF
and the Israeli Police a few weeks prior to your arrival and again re-approved
on a daily basis.
Situation Room
The SPNI runs a 24/7 “situation” room that channels, on an immediate basis, all
updated security information from the IDF and the Israeli Police to the proper
addresses.
-
If necessary, groups are contacted with change in plans.
-
Each morning, the Group Coordinator contacts the “Situation Room” to be briefed
on any updates.
Communication
Each group carries:
-
GPS – in order for the “Situation Room” to keep track of where the group
is at all times
-
Cell phone – to facilitate easy instant communication
Medics and Armed Escorts
All groups travel with at least one armed chaperone and a trained medic.
Security of Sites & Suppliers
The Israel Experience continually revises the security ratings of all sites and
of our various logistical suppliers. This includes bus companies, hotels,
restaurants and all sites.
Public Transportation is off limits
Participants only travel in private busses from approved vendors.
Free Time
Free time is limited to sites and areas that are pre-approved based on current
security guidelines.
We Are Responsive To Current Situations

The Israel Experience was responsible for approximately 8,000 youth from abroad
during the summer of 2006. The conflict in Lebanon necessitated moving groups,
often on an hourly basis, in response to current advisories from the
authorities. Each group was kept safe and continued to enjoy quality, fun and
educational experiences even if it ended up being in the South of Israel rather
than the North as originally scheduled. Ask anyone who was here – regardless of
the situation they had an experience of a lifetime!
