About the Rimon Program
"The Rimon Music Experience" will provide you with a unique opportunity for music studies in Israel with an educational "Israel experience".
Rimon is Israel's largest independent professional contemporary music school, located in Ramat Hasharon (a suburb of Tel Aviv). Rimon offers eight majors: composition and arranging, film scoring, song writing, jazz performance, general performance, music production and engineering and an advanced program of composition, performance and production.
On the program students are integrated into classes at Rimon which are taught in Hebrew, and join ensembles with the Israeli students. In addition to the studies at Rimon, the program includes tours throughout Israel, seminars on Israeli society, volunteering and the chance to explore one's personal identity as a Jew and a musician.
Our main goals and objectives:
- To give our students advanced musical knowlege and skills for arranging, composition, improvisation, performance, use of technology and music appreciation.
- To enhance students' knowledge and understanding of their Jewish heritage and to strengthen their Jewish identity.
- To give our students an opportunity to learn about and experience numerous aspects of Israeli society.
- To expose our students to various musical experiences: visits to concerts, mainstream and avant-garde music productions and meeting with young and leading musicians in the Israeli musical scene.
- To provide an interactive experience with Israeli music students
What does the program include?
- Orientation
- Ulpan- Participants must arrive with previous knowledge of Hebrew, in the first period of the program participants will be attending Upan for the purpose of improving their Hebrew and not for studying from the start.
- Music studies at Rimon
- Social action – a weekly volunteering fit to each participant fields of interests and qualifications
- Educational seminars, activities and encounters
- Celebrating the Jewish holydays and Israel's national days
- Trips throughout the country
- Life experience with different young adults from all over the world
