All aspects of the program are equally important, and the program is structured so that you will get the most out of your experience in Israel. Therefore it is not possible to participate in only part of the program, or to do the program at dates other than those given above.
Students on the Rimon music experience program are expected to contribute to Israeli society as part of their responsibilities as participants on the program. 2 hours per week are dedicated to community service projects. Students are given a wide range of choices and are placed at sites that match their interests and skills. Many of the placements involve music, allowing the participants to utilize their artistic and musical skills on behalf of the community.
During the first period of the program, participants will be attending ulpan –
the ulpan will aim to improve their Hebrew that they were required to acquire
prior to their arrival. This prerequisite is a necessity for the participant's
integration in Rimon since each participant will be integrated into the Hebrew
speaking classes of Rimon according to his theoretical background and musical
instrument.
In addition, during the first segment of the program, participants will be
exposed and acquainted to the Israeli society, culture, politics and daily
life.Programming will include:
In light of the musical focus of the program, we make every effort to focus and enhance the musical experience for the participants. The majority of the participants have been to Israel in the past, therefore we make every effort to take the programming up a notch by bringing you first-class speakers and creating unique encounters with Israelis and Israeli musical scene.
The accommodation is in Hakfar Hayarok (= the green village) 15 minute bus ride
from Rimon school located in Ramat Hasharon
2 participants share a room (one can have a single room involving extra cost)
The room contains a large closet, studying area, sleeping area and a private
separate shower and toilet
The rooms are air conditioned with wide grass and greenery surrounding
Each room includes of a refrigerator, hot pot and a microwave to allow heating
and sandwich making , more serious cooking can be done at the big Moaadon
(club) available for the Rimon participants, well equipped for cooking and
baking , having a large lounge area and dining area and of course a TV set with
a DVD available as well
Laundry and drier are provided for the participants at the end of the corridor
(soap and cleaning detergents are not provided)
cleaning services are not provided and the participants must clean their own
rooms and take turns in cleaning the common areas.
Kfar hayarok has very convenient transportation which makes it is easy to get
form here to: Tel Aviv, Ramat Gan, Herzelia, Raanana, Ramat Hasharon to the
various beaches on the coastal plain of Israel etc.
On the grounds of the kfar there is a well equipped conservatoire that
accommodated the Rimon participants at certain hours according to the municipal
silence hours of Israel and availability of the center.
All participants are medically insured by an Israeli medical insurance company. The insurance covers all medical needs that arise while on the program in Israel. It does not cover the following:
The cost for the full year program is $18,000, before Masa scholarships. MASA scholarships range from $1000-10,000, so the net cost is between $8000-17,000. This does not include the $50 non-refundable application fee.
The program cost includes full tuition at the Rimon music school for the year,
housing, monthly bus passes in the Tel Aviv central area, medical insurance,
Ulpan, extracurricular activities and accompanying staff.
It does not include:
Participants need to pay for their own flights, food and transportation on the program as well as for personal expenses such as cell phones and entertainment. It is important to remember that Israel is not an inexpensive country, and therefore expenses in general are comparable to those of most Western countries. We suggest that all participants budget at least $300-$500 for each month in Israel.

The additional documents to be sent with the full application include a 500$ payment. This payment is a non refundable one and full applications with out the payment will not be considered
